A workbook also needs room for the reader\u2019s own thinking, writing and drawing.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m a designer and author with hands-on experience creating illustrated books, guided journals and complex publishing projects. I can help you shape the book, then take care of the practical steps towards getting it into readers\u2019 hands.<\/p>\n<h2>Book design and InDesign production<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Book structure, page size, typography and page grids.<\/li>\n<li>Interior design and layout in Adobe InDesign, including long manuscripts, illustrated books, journals and workbooks.<\/li>\n<li>Paragraph and character styles, chapter layouts, contents, running titles and footnotes where needed.<\/li>\n<li>Print-ready paperback and hardback PDFs, with bleed, margins, images and file checks prepared for the chosen printer.<\/li>\n<li>Front cover, spine and back cover layout, plus digital editions where included in our agreement.<\/li>\n<li>Proofs and adjustments to meet the chosen printing or distribution channel\u2019s requirements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Publishing and distribution setup<\/h2>\n<p>Then there are the less romantic parts of publishing: ISBNs, your imprint, formats, sales information, territories and prices. I can help you work through those decisions and set up the publication.<\/p>\n<p>Depending on the project, that can include accounts, uploads and file preparation for IngramSpark, Amazon KDP, Apple Books, Google Play Books and other suitable channels. We can also work out how print-on-demand, ebooks and sales through your own website fit together.<\/p>\n<p>You keep control of your publishing rights and accounts. We\u2019ll account for each platform\u2019s requirements and fees.
