Biography
Giorgiana Zachia is a curator and cultural producer working with the infrastructure of contemporary art in Sweden. Her career has included Tensta konsthall, the Romanian Cultural Institute in Stockholm and work supporting arts organisations at Statens konstråd, Sweden’s Public Art Agency.
Philosophy & approach
Her public work is concerned with how art organisations and practitioners can find resources, form partnerships and respond to changing cultural conditions. Rather than approaching cultural support as administration alone, her work connects programme development and institutional collaboration with opportunities for artists and public life.
Selected work & current practice
Zachia has coordinated work on strengthening art organisations at Statens konstråd, contributed to programmes and digital portfolio reviews that connect artists with curators across Sweden, and participated in discussions around culture, colonial legacies and social sustainability. She has served on the board of SITE and has a background in editorial projects and cultural production, including earlier work at Tensta konsthall.
