Vishnu Vardhani Rajan
Artist · Body Philosopher · Activist
A practice that begins with the body and refuses to stay inside a single discipline.

Biography
Vishnu Vardhani Rajan is a Helsinki-based artist, activist and self-described body philosopher whose work moves between performance, moving image, poetry, teaching, food, ritual and public action. Born and raised in Hyderabad, Vishnu’s work draws on lived experience to connect artistic form with histories, cultures, sensory knowledge and the politics of everyday life.
Philosophy & approach
Their artistic philosophy is one of lived praxis: the work is not an abstract commentary on experience but grows from moving through it. Sleep, shame, care, fermentation, conflict and the body’s changing states become creative and philosophical material. The result is a language that crosses academic, cultural and artistic categories without resolving their tensions too neatly.
Selected work & current practice
Vishnu’s public archive documents performance and film projects, experimental poetry, teaching and organising. Selected work includes Code Red / Haema, the Exhausted Activist Project, nap-café interventions, the Infinite Playlist Afterisms and film experiments. Their performance persona Vamp Master Brown is part of a wider exploration of voice, social codes and performance.
